Welcome to Haryana Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (HAMETI)

Located at the Rohtak By-pass in Jind, the Haryana Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (HAMETI) is dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of extension workers within the agriculture and allied sectors through advanced training in agricultural management and extension. Established in March 2000, HAMETI was initiated as part of the broader "Innovation in Technology Dissemination (ITD)" component under the National Agricultural Technology Project (NATP), which is supported by the World Bank.

HAMETI has been instrumental in bringing transformative changes to agricultural practices in Haryana by aligning its goals with national initiatives aimed at technological dissemination and sustainable agricultural advancements. From its inception, the institute has played a pivotal role in addressing the unique agricultural challenges and leveraging opportunities specific to Haryana.

The institute began its operations in March 2000 and was originally part of the “Support to State Extension Programs for Extension Reforms (ATMA)” scheme until 1st June 2006. With the financial year 2014-15, this program transitioned to the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Extension (SMAE), which is a component of the National Mission on Agricultural Extension & Technology (NMAET). Following 2017, SMAE was incorporated into the broader umbrella scheme known as the Green Revolution-Krishonnati Yojana, which guides the current functioning of the institute according to national agricultural extension and technology guidelines.
