Mandate of HAMETI

The Haryana Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (HAMETI) serves as a premier state-level institute with a comprehensive mandate to enhance the capabilities of extension functionaries through targeted management input and innovative training programs. Our responsibilities include:

Providing Extension Management Input: Offering strategic guidance to extension functionaries to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural extension services.

Organizing Need-Based Training Programs: Designing and conducting training for middle and grassroots level agriculture and allied subject extension functionaries based on evolving needs and sectoral demands.

Developing Management Tools: Creating and promoting the application of management tools that enhance the effectiveness of agricultural extension services through better human and material resource management.

Publishing and Research: Generating and disseminating literature, and conducting studies on agricultural management, communication, participatory methodologies, and more, building on insights gained from our training programs.

Consultancy Services: Providing expertise in areas such as project planning, appraisal, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

As Haryana’s sole state-level training institute, HAMETI plays a crucial role in training trainers and extension functionaries from Agriculture & Allied Departments. Our capacity-building efforts extend to various state developmental departments including Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Soil & Water Conservation, Dairy Development, Forestry & Wildlife Conservation, Fisheries, and ATMA, among others. Farmers, officers from Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), NGOs, and private organizations are also eligible for our training programs.

Beyond our annual training calendar, HAMETI organizes induction trainings for newly appointed officers and sponsored training programs aimed at skill development for farmers, farm women, farmer user groups, self-help groups, etc., for livelihood improvement. Requests for such capacity-building initiatives can be made by central/state government departments, NGOs, private companies, or rural development departments, in accordance with the guidelines provided under the relevant schemes.

Furthermore, HAMETI conducts specialized training programs under government schemes like Skill Training for Rural Youth (STRY) and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY). We also offer diploma programs sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India, including a "Post-graduate Diploma in Agricultural Extension Management (PGDAEM)" for extension officials and a "One-year Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI)" tailored for the state’s input dealers.

This version mirrors the detailed structure of PAMETI's mandate, adjusting the content to fit HAMETI's specific focus and the state of Haryana’s agricultural context.
